Meet Michael Radi, the Composer/Lyricist/Librettist of The King's Legacy.

 

Michael Radi is a composer, lyricist, librettist, performer, vocal coach, and musical director currently residing in New York City. Michael graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a B.A. in Theatre-English, Summa Cum Laude with Honors, and with several distinctions. He is an alumnus of the esteemed Lehman Engel BMI Musical Theatre Writing Workshop as a lyricist and maintains collaborations he formed within the program.

Michael has written three full-length musical theatre pieces, including his original musical The King’s Legacy, which received its world premiere production in August 2019 at the Bristol Valley Theater in Naples, NY. This show has also been presented in Industry Reading format, both in fall of 2019 as part of the Dramatists Guild Friday Night Footlights and in November 2016, as well as part of the Emerging Artists Theater Festival in 2014, and in a workshop through the Random Access Theatre in 2013.

Michael continues to collaborate on other projects as well, including a musical adaptation of The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow, which received its first workshop reading in October 2018. He is also collaborating on a family-oriented musical comedy set in the world of competitive baton twirling, based off his family's history with the sport.

In addition to the writing, Michael has enjoyed performing at every possible opportunity. Michael is in his ninth year as a vocal instructor, accompanist, and musical director at From Stage To Screen studio in Huntington, NY on Long Island, where he teaches thirty-five private voice students. In addition, Michael coaches professionally in the city and musical directs at both theaters and educational institutions.
